Planning for Iteration 8 (aka 1.0b2)

Working on finalizing the feature list for iteration 8.

Feature #A: Person-to-person invitation.

Feature #B: Welcome and Bookmarks. Be able to go from [bookmarked urls] -> [related feed urls] -> [categorized feed urls] so that we deliver on the promise of “if you have just bookmarks, we can generate a compelling feeddo for you”. This feature has been cooking for the last 10 weeks. We should be able to push it out in this iteration.

Feature #C: Make is easier for people to search and follow people they know. This includes an automatic discovery of their existing friends during the welcome process. The value is that people seem to like the cafe/social aspects of feeddo but today they do not seem to be able to configure that part in a self service mode.

Feature #D: Annotations in expanded list view (both ability of displaying and making annotations in the expanded list view).

Feature #E: Ability to make and display annotations directly on any blog page.

Feature #F: Attention Map.

Feature #G: Karma Points. When users recommend something, they want to know if their recommendation is well accepted or not. This could either end up being an “edwinism”[1] or could become something that would make feeddo more fun/game like.

Feature #H: Ability to add and remove categories (including extending our best of directory)

Feature #I: Address duplication of entries in the cafe.

Feature #J: Improve the what’s new page so that the amount of content in each entry is more balanced.

Feature #K: Better showcase keyword/topic support. The use case here is to allow the user to say: I want to know everything about the iphone, BPEL, Obama. Or to be able to do a related search in an article about a person or a company and tell to feeddo, please keep an eye on that topic for the next 2 weeks.

Feature #L: Enhance “video” experience. Combination of better browsing experience and in-context viewing experience.

Please send me an email if you have suggestions, questions or concerns! Thanks!

[1] Edwinism: a feature Edwin gets very excited about initially but ends up being totally lame once implemented.
