Better Video Support: Hulu, YouTube, Ted and more…

We just pushed out patch 1.2.184. It includes a few enhancements we have included in the area of video:

  • You can now subscribe to video streams from Hulu, Ted Talks, Charlie Rose and any other RSS feeds which embed videos
  • You can inline and play directly all those videos in feedly
  • We added a new “Video Grid” view to help scan through video feeds
  • You can user all the existing sharing and recommendations tools with those video feeds
  • We extended the digest page to include a 4×2 list of you most recommended/favorite videos

Here are two screenshots of what the experience looks like:

Feedly Video Grid ViewScreenshot 1 – Here is an example of what the Hulu Saturday Night Live video feed looks like in feedly. Note: we love the fact that Hulu allows you to save any search query as an RSS feed. Very nice and powerful.

Video inlinedScreenshot 2 – You can select any video, inline it, watch it and use any of the feedly sharing and recommendation tools.

Everything is available as of tonight (patch 1.2.184) so feel free to go on the Hulu website or the Ted site, subscribe to a video feed and kick the tires and see if you like it.
