Google Reader Friends And Sharing Enhancements (part 1)

The survey we did last week on twitter ended up being in favor of having better support for the concept of Google Reader friends. So as part of patch 1.2.205, we are pushing out the following enhancements:

  • Ability to search for shared items lists
  • A new view optimized for scanning shared items and their associated annotations
  • A new module on the digest which shows the list of people you are following
  • A new G+S keyboard shortcut to go to the list of items you have shared
  • Ability to follow people without having their shared items list pollute your “all” list
  • Ability to view reactions people have to what you are sharing (yes this is the “comments” feature Google Reader released today)
  • Ability to post a reaction when you are reviewing an article shared by someone you are following
