Feedly+IPhone: Milestone 2

Feedly on the iphone

We have a prototype of the existing feedly digest running on the iphone. This helps us understand the limits of Safari Mobile (specially when it comes to Javascript execution, caching and rendering of dynamic HTML). Based on the benchmarks we have been running, we need feedly mobile to be 5x more compact (200-300K of JS code instead of 1M of JS code) and 5x more network efficient. We are kicking off a new project called nitro to try to address those challenges. The next step (aka Milestone 3) is focusing on how quickly we can load feedly and display a preview of the digest. We hope to be able to report back in a couple of weeks with an alpha. Stay tuned!

  1. Too long guys… A week and I’d get it for iPhone, a FEW weeks and I’ll just shop around. There are a great many good feed readers out already.
