New Welcome Process

As part of 1.2.250, we have a new iteration of the welcome process. The goal is to make feedly accessible to as many people as possible (not only Google Reader/RSS users).

Here is what the new welcome pane looks like:

New Welcome ProcessThe Bookmark and History option has been enhanced to generate an OPML based on your exiting bookmarks and live bookmarks.

The Netvibes and Bloglines options have been enhanced to provide a higher fidelity migration.

The “I am feeling lucky!” option is a new way for users to find the best blogs and podcasts based on a specific keyword.

Finally, the initial highly personalized mix is enriched which seven default categories which highlight some of the best content available on the web and showcase the power of feedly in terms of views, content-type support, real-time integration and filtering. Here is a quick overview of what those categories are:

default mixWe are planning to localize this list focusing on China, Autralia, France, England and German first so if you are a feedly user and live in one of those countries and would be interested in helping put a default power mix together, please let us know.

Thank you and have a great week end!
