Update on the Feedly Versioning

Here is a quick update to the feedly versioning and upgrade document we published in February. Going forward, there are going to be two release of feedly available, one on the Mozilla Add-ons directory and one on www.feedly.com.

  • The version on the Mozilla Add-ons will be labeled 2.1, 2.2, 2.3,… and will be using the Firefox update mechanism only (no feedly patches). Our goal is to push out a new update every 4-6 weeks.
  • The version on www. feedly.com will be labeled 2.x and will be using the feedly patching framework to continuously update each time you restart firefox.

Latest or more stable? Your choice.

  1. Great. But please keep the Safari.html file buried deep in the extension going forward also. The last feedly update (in Firefox) went back to the old site layout/design in the safari-html file.

  2. Hi Thomas. Safari.htm will remain in the packages and will get updated at the same time the rest of the package gets update given that the firefox and safari versions share 95% of the same code. I am not sure why you saw an older version. May be you saw the old layout because you had an small window width. May be a caching issue. Please let us know if you run into the issue again.
