Unscheduled Downtime – RESOLVED

Hurricane Electric which hosts our servers is experiencing an issue in the Fremont 2 data center. They are looking into the problem and expect to have the problem resolved in a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will update this post as soon as we hear back from them. If you need urgent access to your feeds, you can use the Google Reader interface.

Saturday, 1:30am: We have loaded the root cause of the problem. Our data center (HE Fremont 2) is experiencing network issues.

Saturday, 2:30am: We have better understanding into the problem. The service should be back up on Saturday around 9:00am PST. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Saturday, 8:30am: The network is back up but our servers have been rebooted. We need a few more hours to make sure that nothing broke when HE rebooted out servers and bring everything back online. Will update this post every hour.

Saturday, 9:30am: The database is up. We are making a back up of all the data and repopulating all our caches. We expect the service to be back up in less than an hour. Thank you for your patience.

Saturday, 9:53am: The service is back up. Everything should be back to normal. Thanks to the dev team for an effective Saturday morning intervention. This HE issue put the spotlight on things we need to learn to do better on our side. Will learn and get better. Sorry for the inconvenience.
