About 25% of the people who have been trying feedly over the last week have been Safari users. So we decided to do a sprint and improve the speed and experience.

    1. Waiting for Firefox update a long time… And I hope that this updates are just some transition until we get the Full HTML only site.

  1. A counter on the Feedly toolbar icon showing the number of unread messages in all feeds would be a useful addition, and one many are clamoring for in the forums.

    Any word on this?

      1. Safari 6 is not the current version for MacOS prior to 10.8. And many Mac users cannot/won’t use 10.8 because of compatibility problems. (Plus if Mac users buy expensive machines it is because those machines are not supposed to become obsolete after just txo of three years.)

        1. Using Safari 6.0.3 and OS X 10.8.3. Worked great until the update. Won’t work at all now.

        1. It’s not working for me either. I’m using Safari 6.0.5 on a Macbook pro running OS X Mountain Lion. Updated and installed this version but I see no mini toolbar whatsoever.
What gives, Feedly?! It’s been almost three months since the update!

  2. It’s exciting to know that you are getting Firefox extension out soon. So would that make the interface the same as the Chrome and Safari one? Because the FF one looks from the stone age right now.

Also, I never get any replies for the problems with Feedly I paste on your twitter. Is it because you prefer another venue for feedback?

  3. And I wait for a web version. What’s the point of updating interface by updating extensions? You have to wait for passing review (which is very slow for firefox), and then you should deal with different extensions in different browsers with mostly outdated versions (at least for 24 hours after rolling out a new version). This is just silly.

    1. +1. Just implement a web page that ANY browser can open. There’s nothing special about Feedly that requires the plugin, it could all be done in standard HTML/JavaScript.

    2. Agreed! It would surely require a lot less maintenance to have a website instead of many plugins.

The only thing the plugin seems to do is add a button, but a bookmark in the Bookmarks Toolbar would do just the same.

It would be a better strategy to have an *optional* plugin that adds that button, because such a plugin would hardly need any updates! And we’d be able to access Feedly on other computers, like Google Reader.

      1. The database is ok after I use SQL SERVER 2005,but there is aeonrryr still in TAS1.0 . I can’t manage the site in TAS,the problemwill take such as file CreateUser.aspx, the place is , the UpdatePanel2 can not show correct.

  4. Using Safari 6.0.2. It was working fine before I downloaded the update. Now, after I try logging in or connecting to Google Reader, it just goes back to the login page. Any ideas on what is causing this?

  5. I’m still waiting for Internet Explorer 10 support. Should be easy with HTML5, I assume. Until then, I’m more likely to pay to use newsblur which isn’t neglecting people’s browser preference and whose layout and buttons seems a little more optimized to high-volume article management rather than “magazine-style” reading (like Google Reader was).

  6. There is no feedly as long as I cannot use it in any browser I want to. This is like being back in the ages of “This site is only compatible to Internet Explorer 6 and best viewed with a resolution above 800×600.”…

  7. Denser visually is good, but now all the dates have disappeard, so I can’t see how old anything is…was better before

  8. Also, my subscriptions no longer appear in index unless they have unread entries, how am I supposed to find them now? The old version was much better, wish I hadn’t updated, disaster!

    1. Looking at the CSS. The font-family defaults to : “sans-serif” rather than “HelveticaNeue-Condensed, sans-serif”

      Any ideas?

  9. I can’t install. Have MAC OS 10.5.8 and Safari 5.0.6. From reading in the forums there are 10000s of us that can’t install it. No Joke. Not an issue with cookies, done all the things suggested. WHen clicking on the feedly button that is now on my toolbar it takes me to the page to Get Feedly for Safari…

    1. SAME problem here! I cannot seem to install any version of Feedly. Also my Mac OS 10.5.8 seems to be too old to install Firefox, so Safari is all I can use

  10. I received an error message when I tried to install the extension. Now I cannot open Feedly. It is stuck on “Synchronizing feedly v.11.0.458. Please wait…” How can I undo this? I was really enjoying Feedly and now I cannot access it.

  11. Please keep posting status updates in blog. I’m changing browsers (chrome – breaks daily, firefox – too slow) and am really liking opera. The only negative so far with opera is no feedly. Are there plans for a web-base site regardless of browser? Otherwise will the opera extension be ready before google reader closes?

  12. I am using Version 6.0.3 and just joined Feedly, the icon leads to the homepage, I’m guessing it is not meant to do that seeing as how the “Add/Subscribe” button is nowhere to be seen? + from the other complaints above ^

  13. I keep getting a message saying “an error occurred while trying to install feedly.” I have Safari 5.1.8 with OSx 10.6.8. Any suggestions?

  14. Running Safari 6.0.2 and Mac OS 10.8.2 and the extension does want to install. Feedly appears to be dead.

    1. Similar problem here. I have to double click the extension file to try to install it, it asks me to confirm the installation, and after I do, nothing happens. I go to feedly.com and it just shows me the home page with option to install the Safari plugin again. The extension file moves after I install it.

  15. Big Fail Feedly. I had to roll back to the older extension with time machine to make Feedly work again.

  16. osx 10.5 won’t support firefox anymore and i can’t manage to get feedly installed onto safari. i have safari 5.0.6. i get the massage ‘safari can’t install this extension. An error occurred while installing the extension “feedly”.’

i probably lost my entire feed index by losing firefox. what now?

  17. Bug in iPad Feedly Upgrade for Safari, as of 2 May 2013 – when I tap through from the Feedly view to the website or blog and type a comment into the comment box, the comment disappears on some blogs and I am returned to the Feedly view page before I can hit Publish. Has happened a number of times, especially after leaving required Word Verification. This is NOT happen before the upgrade on the 2 May 2013,

  18. Safari 6.0.4, MacOS 10.8.3 MacBook Pro: Download extension. Click on downloaded file. Click “Install” button. Refresh feedly.com. Standard home page is displayed again and feedly extension does not work. A prior version did work on this computer, so something might have changed in the last few weeks. Works fine on Chrome.

  19. I pay a visit day-to-day some blogs and information sites to read
articles, except this website presents feature based posts.

  20. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or
something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is fantastic
blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

  21. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking
to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to

  22. Wow! This blog looks exactly like my old one!

It’s on a entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Excellent choice of colors!

  23. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility
issues? A small number of my blog visitors have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer
but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this issue?

  24. Very great post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to mention
that I have truly enjoyed surfing around your blog
posts. In any case I will be subscribing on your feed and I hope you write once more very

  25. Doesn’t work on 10.8.4 and latest version Safari, either. Installation goes through ok, the extension is listed and enabled but if I go to feedly.com, the extension isn’t loaded. Tried this on two different Macs.

    1. Doesn’t anyone on the Feedly team care about Safari? Still no mini-toolbar, doesn’t interface with Safari so that I can click and RSS link and add one. Other than being a bookmark to your web site, what the hell is it supposed to do? Come on, people…

  28. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab
inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

  29. Wow that was strange. I just wrote an very long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear.
Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyways, just wanted to say excellent blog!
