Solution to the “my account seems empty” problem

If you are trying to access your feedly and running into an empty account, it is most likely due to the fact that your session has expired and you are logged into the wrong Google account.

The solution to this problem is to log out of feedly, then go to and add all your Google Accounts to the account switcher and then go back to and login again. At that point, you will be prompted to pick an account, make sure that you pick the one you used when you initially created your feedly account.

Also, if you are trying to access feedly via an old bookmark pointing to and getting a 404 error, please update the bookmark to (no home or cloud needed anymore).

Happy thanksgiving to everyone!

  1. I don’t understand the meaning of the sentence “add all your Google Accounts to the account switcher”

BTW, gives me a blank page. Not sure this is the issue you’re referring in this post.

    1. Beautiful home refresing to see color inaetsd of pink and green (not saying I dont like pink and green so no offense to anyone) but its nice to see something crisp bright with clean lines too I could do some serious cooking in that kitchen!!JO[]

  3. I can’t get in either. I tried just logging in with my old google account. How do I download the account switcher.

  4. It’s not possible for me to log out of feedly in Firefox because I see nothing but a white screen when I go to, either by typing it into the address bar or by clicking the icon provided by the feedly extension (16.0.528) for Firefox. In chasing down the problem, I have disabled every extension that I’m running in Firefox, and I still get the white screen. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled the Firefox feedly extension. No joy.

  5. I can’t log out of feedly using Firefox because all I see is a white screen when I attempt to access, either by typing directly into the address bar or by using the icon provided by the feedly extension (16.0.528). In trying to isolate the problem, I have disabled every extension I’m running and it made no difference. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the Firefox feedly extension. No joy.

  6. I’m just getting a white screen on Firefox and Chrome. I tried clearing my cache and cookies which allowed me to log-in with my google account (only have the one) but it never loaded and refreshing just gave me a white screen again.

  7. I agree with some posters above; I can’t logout of feedly because I can’t see anything to begin with! Using Internet Explorer 10. I clear all the cache, cookies, and passwords; I log out of Google and then log back in. Nothing. It’s a white screen of doom and it’s made me move to a different reader until you get this fixed.

  8. FYI – I would like to see Feedly abandon its requirement that I use my Google account and password. It is security insanity to re-use independent accounts for multiple purposes. (In theory, we should not even trust anyone working for any company that doesn’t do a full FBI-employee-like background check including interviews of a persons family, friends, and neighbors on every employee who deals with account access.)

  9. This post is useless, no explanation regarding the Google account switcher. And still waiting for a reply as to why I can’t log in to Feedly via the Chrome extension. I am still taken to a yahoo search page when I try logging in to Feedly.

  10. I don’t lnow why it worked but it did. I changed my Google account password, then entered the empty screen which was logged into my husband’s Google account. I then logged out and when I was asked to sign into, it let me use my Google account.

MY husband has no interest in RSS feeds, so that was puzzling.

  11. Sorry, no. I have only one Google account. There is nothing to “switch” and logging out and in did nothing. I reimported my OPML file and now the exact same account won’t sync between the web and mobile clients. Deleting my account from the mobile client and re-adding it didn’t sync the two back up. Logging out and in mobile did nothing, either.

Unfortunately, Feedly, you broke your service.

  12. Sorry, this doesn’t resolve the missing feeds issue. I open a new private browsing session (thus no cookies or anything left over), go to Feedly, log in with the correct Google credentials, and it shows that I have no feeds.

  13. Here’s what worked for me:

Go to google. Click your email address in the top right, then account. On the menu on the left, under “Account”, click “Dashboard.” On the Dashboard page, the first icon in the middle of the page is “account” with your email address. There should be a link to “Authorize Account Access” to the right. Click that.

Once the page loads, you’ll see what apps have permissions. Revoke all those related to feedly (I think I had three… seems excessive).

Once these are confirmed, go back to and log in. The window will pop up saying the app wants to view your data, accept that, and then you should be able to log in and view your feed.

    1. Sadly enough, this did not restore my feeds on the website. Glad it worked for you, though!

Impressive that the update introduced both a missing feed bug and a white screen bug. Luckily(?) I have but one of them…

  14. Okay, I figured out what was causing the white screen in Firefox. I block all cookies except those that for sites that I specifically allow. I had to go into Firefox Options|Privacy|Exceptions and allow “” to set cookies. Once I did that and called up feedly by clicking the extension’s icon, the page loaded and I could login. Hope this helps others with the white screen problem.

    1. I’ve got Firefox setup to ask about any first-party cookies, and already have everything from Feedly accepted. Still no joy for me even after removing all cookies from Feedly and relaunching the site.

  15. How do we do the Account Switcher? I’ve played around with this and cannot find it.
Zack, I also tried your recommendation and sadly it did not work for me.

Feedly, what did you do? DO I need to find a new RSS service now?

  16. Hi there! This article couldn’t be written any better!
Reading through this article reminds me of my previous roommate!

He constantly kept preaching about this. I am going to
send this information to him. Fairly certain he’s going to have a good read.
    Than you for sharing!

  17. You mqde some decent points there. I checked on the net for
additional information about the issue and found most individuals will go along with your
    views on this website.

  18. When I visit my feed’s Home page, I always receive a notification that says “No unread articles. All done!”, even there are typically unread articles. What is going on?

  19. BTW, I see nowhere to comment of Feedly so I came here.
On my Feedly it is advertizing for me to sign up for Feedly PRO
But no link to explain the differences
    Bad marketing!!
Why would I pay a yearly charge when I get the free version.
Is it time for everyone to jump out of Feedly before you charge everyone?

    1. If you normally block cookies with exceptions for some sites, try adding to those you allow Firefox to set. I had the white screen in Firefox but could access in Chrome. Allowing cookies in Firefox worked for me.

      1. Excellent, Gin! Normally you get a popup asking about cookies, but for some reason feedly’s cookies don’t do that. If you go into the options (Firefox menu->Options->Options->Privacy->Exceptions…) and add (allow/allow for session) it seems to work fine.

        1. This finally fixed my blank page issue as well. I had other feedly permutations that were allowed to have cookies, but when I added “” as tklancer suggests, and refreshed the page, I was out of the white screen of death! Yay for those commenting but why is it taking the feedly programers weeks to comment on this issue themselves?

  20. I have the same issue with Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows 7 Pro. Feedly gives me a blank page. I can see the underlying code if I view code, but no content is displayed. I can see everything just fine in Google Chrome 31.0…, but I use Chrome for work & Firefox for personal browsing.

  21. Not working with Android, though I just downloaded the app to my android tablet. I’m signed in to the right account, and it still ignores me. Acts as if my account doesn’t exist

    1. What is a possible first step in elitinaming a variable in the following system of equationsx + y = 33x – 4y = 231 Multiply the first equation by –4.2 Multiply the first equation by 3.3 None of the above.4 Choices 1 and 2.

  22. It’s working fine for me in firefox 25.1, but I can’t log in with chrome 31.0.1650.63 m. I just get a white screen like others have described. The website, the extension, nor the web app allow me access to my feed. I know the feed is good because I can access everything on Firefox, iOS and Android. I cleaned out the cookies for chrome to get them to reload, but now it hangs on the login screen.

I’m also having problems with the Android app on my tablet. Any link or button I click on inside a webpage being displayed inside the app causes the app to crash, as well as clicking the options button in the top right corner while in web mode. If I open the text preview into chrome, everything works fine, so it’s definitely the app causing the problem.

At this point it’s become a pain to even use feedly, but I’ve yet to see anything as easy to use.

  23. Update on previous post. Feedly just loaded on Chrome for me, but it is reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllly slow. It took almost 5 minutes to load. I saw an earlier post talking about some “grabthis” extension slowing down chrome, but I don’t see it listed anywhere in my extensions.

  24. I can’t login even if I add my previously feedly-related google account. I choose that account in pop-up window on “feedly – login exisitng user” and it goes back to the start page with “Getting started” green button in it. If I’m logged into google with correct account, the popup just appears for a second and then I see the start screen again.

  25. I had to disable “Ask me every time” on cookies before I could start using Feedly with Firefox. As soon as I enable that feature it stops loading and shows me an empty page. It works with the other two options (Keep until expired and until I close FF). Very frustrating, as I don’t like sites keeping cookies on my browser. This only happens if I start from a fresh install, when you have the setting enabled from a much older version (At least before FF20) it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I tried the other methods suggested here, none helped.

  26. I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good.

I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger if you aren’t already ;) Cheers!

  27. Pretty portion of content. I simply stumbled

upon your website and in accession capital to assert that I get actually enjoyed
account your weblog posts. Any way I will be subscribing on

your feeds and even I success you get entry to persistently fast.

  28. Not working either here. I pick the right Google account to sign in, and then the popup window disappears so quickly I can’t read it. And feedly is empty.

    1. Same thing was happening for me. I finally captured a screenshot of it…it’s no help…just saying, This tab should close automatically. If not, contact care@feedly for support.

  29. I can’t seem to log into feedly on my Mac anymore (on any browser). On my work Windows laptop I get a weird message (~”if you can’t log in try disabling adblocker and HTTPsomethingorother” blah blah blah) for half a second before it logs in.

I’ve tried disabling adblockers but nothing seems to work.

Only started to be a problem for me about a week ago.

    1. Where do I start these photos are uneral.Your home looks like magazine material. Just got the Real Living mag today and your office is in there. How exciting must go and vote for you. Have a great weekend. Sandy x[]

  30. I logged out of my Feedly (it had a lot of feeds saved there), then tried logging back in, but it takes me back to the “get started” page, where I have to pick 5 feeds to select, etc. It doesn’t display the feeds I previously had linked to that same google account.

Any idea of what might be happening, and how I can fix it?

  31. Feedly is completely broken for me today. It works on my ipad, but I can’t connect on my laptop. The ‘login’ button doesn’t seem to do anything anymore, it links to the site which has nothing on it. Please fix this.

  32. Feedly is now broken for me. My husband accidentally killed cookies and now feedly will not come back. White screen of doom. Sigh. I’m on a Mac. Do I really have to go get a new feeder?

  33. Feedly kept crashing on my Samsung Note 8, so I reinstalled it. Now I don’t have my feeds any more. Everything is still okay on my S3. Help!

  34. Do you have a spam problem on this blog; I also am a blogger, and I was wondering
your situation; we have developed some nice methods and we are looking to trade strategies with others, be sure to shoot me an email if interested.

  35. All of my feedly feeds have disappeared. All of the blogs I have painstakingly collected and categorized in Feedly over the past few months plus many years in Googlereader — just gone. This happened since the change to authentication using Google. Why was I not informed that this would happen? I am very upset about this.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I used to just log in using my email/login name and password. Why did this just change with no warning?

Where are my blog feeds Feedly???
